FREE ACT for 10-12th Graders
Verdigris High School, grades 10-12, will be participating in the FREE Fall ACT opportunity. ALL sophomores will take this ACT in lieu of the Pre-ACT this year. ALL juniors and seniors will be opted IN for this test unless Ms. Osburn receives an email from a parent/guardian opting their student OUT of taking the test. E-mails should be sent to gosburn@vps.k12.ok.us no later than September 8th to opt your student OUT of taking the Fall ACT. The test dates are set for October 5th and 19th. More information on testing specificities will be given at a later date.
Please note that Juniors will still be required to participate in the mandatory testing in the Spring, but this is an additional opportunity for them to take the ACT at no cost.
Mandatory drug testing for student-athletes will be Thursday morning, August 6th, 2020 in the Verdigris Activity Center The cost is $20. Checks need to be made to "IC Labs" or bring cash. Students will need a parent signed drug testing form. Parents must complete a drug testing consent form on RANK One or students may bring a parent-signed drug testing consent form with them. Verdigris High School Graduation 2020 will be Saturday, June 20, 2020, at 6 pm at the Verdigris Activity Center located at 26505 S. 4110 Rd., Claremore, OK 74019. As details become available, they will be posted on the Verdigris website.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENROLLING IN CONCURRENT CLASSES FOR 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR
FREE ACT TEST FOR JUNIORS AND SENIORS:
The Oklahoma State Department of Education will be funding a free ACT for each Junior and Senior this Spring. The ACT tests will be administered on campus and during the school day.
Seniors will test on March 2nd and Juniors will test in April (date to be determined).

Prepare for the February 8th ACT- Individual workshops are $15 each. If you enroll in all four sessions a $10 discount will be applied and the cost would be $50. Make checks payable to Verdigris High School. There are only 20 spots available for the camp. The Verdigris ACT Bootcamp is a camp for students who are diligent and motivated to get a good score. Workshop #1 English is January 27th in Room #166 at the HS from 6-9pm. Workshop #2 Science is January 30th in Room 146 at the HS from 6-9pm. Workshop #3 Reading is February 4th in Room #166 at the HS from 6-9pm. Workshop #4 Math is February 6th in Room #159 at the HS from 6-9pm. FAFSA Night for Senior parents and students will be October 29th from 6-8p.m. in the Verdigris High School Computer Lab (room #108). Before the meeting, create a parent and student FAFSA ID at fafsa.ed.gov. You may check dependency status at StartWithFafsa.org/resources and start your application at FAFSA.gov.
Euell Hanna's Retirement Celebration will be on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 3:30pm in the HS Commons Area. Please come celebrate with us!
Baccalaureate will be Sunday, May 5th, 2019 at 3pm at First Baptist Church of Verdigris.
All 10-12th grade students are invited to the "2019 Who Works the Rivers Career Event" at the Tulsa Port of Catoosa.
When: Tuesday, May 7th from approx. 9am-2pm
Where: Tulsa Port of Catoosa
What: This is a time for high school student to learn about career opportunities on the river. We will have the Coast Guard, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ODOT Waterways and may companies along the waterway here to discuss these great opportunities. The students will rotate in groups through a workshop format in the morning and then have a Port driving tour and barge ride in the afternoon.
